Portland's Battle of the Bakers!
I had the opportunity to work again with my friends Gwyn and Carolyn on another benefit event show, this time supporting the ACLU of Oregon. I photographed behind the scenes and did some quick portraits after the judging of all the baked treats!
Nextdoor Desserts and Events By Gwyn put this event on to benefit ACLU of Oregon with 6 amateur bakers based in Portland! The bakers worked tirelessly over two days to put together two baked treats, and a show stopper cake. A small group of Portland based baking judges came in to taste all of the treats, and a Star Baker was chosen! After the competition, a full bake sale proceeded that was open to the community. 100% of the proceeds went to benefit the ACLU.
Meet the bakers below!
The bakers started at 8AM on Saturday morning and until 7PM that evening to wrap up their baked goods. They arrived at 11AM on Sunday to put the finishing touches on their show stopper cakes, and judging began at 12PM.
And the Star Baker was Sarah Beach!
A job well done to the team that put this all together. What a great day, and wonderful cause.
